-re和-er
英式英文以-re結尾的單字，在美式常變為-er結尾

英式英文以ise結尾的單字，在美式中改為-ize
organise → organize (組織)
realise → realize (實現)
-me, -ue的省略
英式單字中不發音的字尾-me和-ue，在美式拼寫被省略
